Vintage Coffee

Johannesburg

All you coffee connoisseurs imagine enjoying some good coffee while contributing to good causes….imagine no more.

Johannesburg is home to a number of well-appointed coffee shops that locals love and travelling business people return to and Vintage coffee is one them.

So much more than your run-of-the-mill coffee shop, Vintage is a coffee shop that offers very good coffee for the connoisseur, from iced coffee, to cappuccinos, to Espresso, and for less than half what they wanted in restaurants in more touristy areas.

With two locations in Centurion and Menlyn Pretoria, the décor of Vintage Coffee is funky, modern and the wood has been used craftily to provide an industrial look and feel.

This non-profit organisation Vintage Coffee is run by husband-and-wife team Kevin and Rebeca Clark and opened its doors to the public on 23 July 2014. The concept behind the coffee shop is to provide part of its profits to a worthy cause, when buying a coffee (a robust roast of blended Brazilian and Tanzanian beans), customers are handed a vintage two-cent coin, which they drop into the box of their choosing. Tokens are counted at the end of the month and the organisation with the most votes receives the profits. What’s more Vintage Coffee is one of the first coffee shop of this model to open in South Africa.

So if you find yourself in the Capital City do take a pop into Vintage coffee!
